ElevateDB Error #505 The Elevate DB server cannot be started (Socket error)

This happens because the database is already running. If you are trying to open the EDBSRVR.EXE from C:\FMP_DATA\ (or the directory you chose during installation of the network edition) and click 'Start Server', it will see a conflict and give this error. The database is more than likely already running as a Windows Service named 'ElevateDB Server'.

There is no need to start the database server from this executable directly. The Windows Service being started should be sufficient.
