Why am I unable to assign an employee to a work order

Problem:

When adding labor to a Work Order or assigning an employee to a Work Order, an employee that should be in the list is missing and unable to be selected.

Solution:

Go to People on the left and choose Employees. Right click the Employee missing from the labor list and choose Edit:

Go to the Details tab. Make sure the Type is set to Technician:

Now they will show up in your list:

The Type field is the only one our software looks at to determine if an employee is eligible to be added to a work order. If they are set to any other type then they won't show up in the list. It has to say Technician specifically.

However, with this in mind, you can set the Category value for the employee (in the Details tab, to the right of the Type box) to whatever you would like.
