Bar Code Scanner: Purchase Order Entry
The bar-coding ability in Fleet Maintenance Pro (Shop Edition) and Maintenance Pro (Professional Edition) allows you to scan the UPC code directly from your parts into work orders, parts inventory, invoices, and purchase orders using a handheld barcode scanner.
When generating purchase orders, you can scan parts you wish to order and they will be automatically populated on the purchase order. If the part does not exist in the Parts Inventory, you will be prompted with a screen asking if you would like to add this part to the database.
To add a part to a Purchase Order:
1. Add or Edit a Purchase Order.
2. While on the Purchase Order window, scan the bar code of the part you wish to order.
3. If the part has a reorder quantity set within its profile, that amount will appear automatically. If
needed, adjust this quantity.
4. Click Save, and continue scanning parts to add to the purchase order.
